Pictured above is a screencap from the Paul W.S. Anderson film Resident Evil: Afterlife. Below are some more pictures.
If none of those screencaps grabbed you in any particular way, then don’t be surprised if you leave the film hating it. RE4 is not a movie for those hoping to see cohesive plot and connecting action sequences. Instead, it’s a movie for people like me who are Milla Jovovich fans who don’t really care what she’s in as long as she kicks ass and looks good doing it. It’s the same logic that goes into seeing films like The Room or Ultraviolet. If you have ANY expectations going in, you’ll be let down.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go make plans to see this in 3D. Unlike many, I can’t wait to set my thinking cap aside and just enjoy the hell out of an actress enjoying the hell out of jumping around and killing stuff.
Plus Ali Larter. That really is the bulk of my argument as to why Afterlife rocks harder than Apocalypse. Original had Michelle Rodriguez, Extinction and Afterlife have Ali Larter. Boo on Apocalypse.
I mean seriously. Apocalypse had a halloween store quality Nemesis. The other movies had sexy ladies kicking ass. Boo on Apocalypse indeed! :)
Sienna Guillory was in Apocalypse & Afterlife. Let us not forget that.

Would it be safe to say that I forgot she was in that because she was under-utilized?

I have seen Apocalypse twice and I forget essentially everything about it five minutes after it’s over. :/ That does not, however, mean I don’t own it on blu-ray. Because, uh, I do… So I could theoretically check out the Sienna Guillory situation.
So, you guys realize you can get all three movies for $25 on Amazon right now, right? And the first one is $10.49… Just sayin’. Also..I think it’s hilarious, Jandy, that we both own that movie and are unsure as to why. Or at least, I don’t recall why I ever bought Apocalypse.
I know exactly why I bought it. We’d been talking about Milla a LOT on FriendFeed (might’ve been soon after the first RE4 trailer came out) and I got all excited to see Resident Evil again. I couldn’t remember RE2 very well, but Amazon had both RE1 and RE2 on sale for under $10 each, and I had a gift card and I just bought them both. Didn’t buy Extinction because it wasn’t in the sale and was $20 by itself. You say it has now dropped in price? Hmmmmm….
I shake my fist at both of you. I bought them all ages ago. You call yourselves real fans.
Hey now! I bought Apocalypse after it came out. That counts for SOMETHING in this harsh world, right?!
Hell, I bought Ultraviolet. Come back when you really care.
